OK EVERYONE! I told you I was going to be putting the Flowmaster Super 44's on my Montego.
Well I did, and they sound fantastic! I've been trying to figure out a good way to block my license plate since it went up on normal youtube, so I finally have a video to share!
It starts with the stock single exhaust then you'll notice a bit of a change in volume/sound quality when you get to the second segment.
So this is what we have: 302 Ford V8, Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake, Holley 4 Barrel, Stock Manifolds, 2" Stock Single Exhaust. The only change in the second half is changing from 2" Stock Single Exhaust to 2.5" True Dual Exhaust with Flowmaster Super 44s.
I am in love with the sound this car makes now. It's unbelievable and worth much more than they cost.
Enjoy!

Proper muscle car noises now. God I love that V8 soundtrack.

Very nice, I am jealous. I really want to have some sort of project car with that classic rumbling, gurgling sound.

Sounds awesome! But what's next? May I suggest a set of a bit more "badass" rims to go with that badass sound? Of course, all depends on what kind of style you'd want to go with your car.

The wheels are planned for the future, with much fatter tires out back. I want to do Magnum 500s so they will cost a pretty penny to get nice ones. Next stop is fixing the spots in the floor boards that need patching.
Thanks, I am obsessed with the sound.

I knew SOMEONE would bring up the lawnmower lol.
That's the trusty craftsman mower that's been in the family since 1982. My dad bought it new and gave it to me when I got my first house. Has been used every spring/summer/fall for over 20 years now with only oil changes and a spark plug.

Thanks, I love the sound. It was a little more warmed up when I started it for the second section, so I don't think it actually starts quicker.
Sounds great though, I'm in heaven.
I do feel a performance boost too.

You'd be amazed how cheap the mufflers are. $87 each from advance auto parts, and you can find a coupon code online to take off 50 bucks and give you free shipping.
Then I found my trusty local mechanic who installed it all with hangers and gaskets for 250. What a deal!

check that timing again too, sounded a bit off when you tried to start from dead cold, and flowing a bit more you may want to give it a little twist. Those high and tight duals look awesome back there

Yeah I've been planning on adjusting the timing a little bit. I also need to turn down the idle on the carb some. I just got it back to full functionality aaaaand then my neutral safety switch went out so I can only "jump it" under the hood to start. That's higher on my list lol.
I love the straight out the back on it. I contemplated side exit in front of the rear tires but this worked out great! Maybe down the line when the car is fixed up more i'll get some angled chrome tips to slide over top.

LOL that's what I plan to do though!
Should be awefully bad ass when it gets there. (that's a good start!)

Great googly moogly that is glorious! I have the same mufflers on the Cherokee my 4.0 doesn't sound nearly that delicious.

Thank you!
You can make V6's sound good. But they'll never sound like a V8.
I've heard plenty of big blocks quieter than my little 302 now haha.
